Happy Labor (free) Day Weekend!

I'm in the St.L with the parents enjoying the Labor Day weekend. I hope everyone relaxes and has a great time too! As you can see Truman is already taking full advantage of the Holiday!

What does 'G' stand for these days!

I just finished watching Open Season from Sony Pictures. Not Impressed. At all. The jokes were absolutely inappropriate for children, but the overall script was not written for adults. At one point a squirrel called the bear a "jesse" which I took to mean gay. How is that funny in a animated sense? I do enjoy the Shrek movies. Monsters Inc. is one of my favorite, but I don't understand marketing a animated movie to children that has adult content.

My question to you with children is how do you choose what you let your kiddos watch? Do you watch it before hand? What about all the toys and the commercialism that goes with the big blockbusters these days? Does that make it harder?

From the previews I expected Open Season to be a cute movie about a performing bear adjusting to the wild, I wouldn't expect have to end up explaining to my (hypothetical) six year old that testicles are sometimes referred to as 'nuts'.

I miss the Smurfs and Fraggle Rock!

Most of you know that I am at a personal low in my life. Both spiritually and physically. One struggle I am battling is how to listen to what is God telling me. Dusty had a great little blurb on his site the other day about "How do you hear God"? I was interested in his answers as well as yours.

p.s. Prayers for me are readily accepted. :)

Meet Truman! (and finally i jumped on the bandwagon)

After reconnecting with so many people via their blogs I decided it was time to start my own!
The picture above is the new addition to my life. I brought Truman home 7/7/07. His breed is a known as a Coton de Tulear, but I always feel to chic chic when people ask so I usually mumble something about him being called a "Cotton". And then change the subject. He really has been a great puppy. I have yet to lose any personal items to chewing and he is already potty trained.
I look forward to finally putting some thoughts to paper, as they say. (Who is 'they'?) And I look forward to catching up with everyone!
